The Catherin Palace is conveniently located in the green district of the Old Moscow, only 2-3 minutes away from the Dostoevskaya metro station and 5-7 minutes away from the Congress Venue.
In the second half of XVIII century, near the Church of St. John the Warrior, was built the country estate of Count of Major-General Vladimir Semenovich Saltykov. In 1807, the ownership is acquired by the Office of the Empress Maria to create in it the Catherine Institute of noble maidens. The author of the renovation project complex was D. Gilardi. In 1818, the facade of the main building was rebuilt in Empire style. In 1927-1928 years the palace and park complex converted under the Central House of the Red Army named after Frunze M.V. Since 1992, reviving the tradition of the ducal capital of hospitality, the Catherine palace is a place for a gala events. |
